Iain Matheson delivers the inaugural Every Child Matters webinar on foster family recruitment to 400 Canadian delegates. Entitled Foster family recruitment: What the international research tells us, this webinar critically explores in a very accessible way, the current research evidence on what has been found to "work” in relation to foster family recruitment. Every Child Matters Strengthening Foster Families in Canada is a three year project dedicated to improving foster family recruitment, retention and training practices by collecting and disseminating information, tools and best practices from around Canada. Every Child Matters is a 3 year partnership between the Child Welfare League of Canada and the Canadian Foster Family Association and is funded by the Government of Canada's Social Development Partnership Program. Following the presentation of his doctoral research proposal at a University of Otago College of Education confirmation seminar, Iain Matheson is formally confirmed as a Doctor of Education (EdD) candidate. His part-time qualitative study is on the education experiences of New Zealand University students with a residential or foster care background.
